Work Parties

Updated 3 months ago by IT

Each year we run a series of Work Parties over around five weekends and every member gets an invite to attend on a specific day. The jobs completed at these Work Parties is varied; examples are giving the clubhouse a spring clean, spreading gravel in the dinghy park, trimming the islands.

The work parties usually run from 1000 until 1300 and at 1300 the work attendees meet in the clubhouse for bacon butties and a chinwag about the coming season.

Clearly there is a benefit to the club in that all those jobs get done. It also turns out to be a bit of a social occasion and you get to meet lots of other members. We’ve also found that it gets the season off to a good start, with many members catching the sailing bug early!

How did we do?
